There is a recent trend in the media and in some practitioner's offices that reflects a "no down time" policy for almost all procedures. Many of the procedures we perform in dermatologic surgery, especially injectable fillers, do not have down time. However, for the removal of significant wrinkles, scarring, pigmentation or pre-cancers, down time is necessary. Realize, if you will, that in many instances "no down time" may mean "no results."The physicians of Hailey, Brody, Casey & Wray, M.D., P.C. are here to safely guide you through the maze of treatments advertised in many publications and on the world wide web. Many of these treatments are paramedical and quasi-cosmeceutical garbage, and are promoted by non-physicians and non-dermatologists that refer to themselves as "skin specialists."
Our goal is to provide you with accurate information and positive results. We're also here to help you through any down time with professional, informative care.
Latisse®
Latisse® is the new prescription topical drug for eyelash growth. It creates lashes with greater length in everyone who uses it, as well as darkening and increased thickness of lashes in 80% of users. Patients who have lost their eyelashes due to diseases such as alopecia areata or scarring disease may not experience success. However, those women and men who have thinning eyelashes due to aging or thyroid disease may be excellent candidates.
BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic is an effective treatment for smoothing away frown lines. It's been FDA-approved since 2002, but our dermatologists have been studying and using this treatment since 1994. In fact, the doctors of Hailey, Brody, Casey and Wray, M.D., P.C., helped develop the cosmetic use of BOTOX, and are some of the country's leading BOTOX Cosmetic specialists. DYSPORT ™
An alternative to BOTOX® for some patients, DYSPORT™ offers comparable effectiveness and pricing. Please discuss with our doctors to see if this is an acceptable alternative for you. Complications may occur with either treatment.
Dermal Fillers
We practice the newest filling substances for correction of wrinkles facial depressions due to normal aging, HIV lipoatrophy or other causes. Injectable fat, Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm™, Radiesse®, Collagen, and other fillers and implantables can be combined for gratifying results. Dermal fillers can also used under the eyes in the tear troughs for considerable improvement. The newest French techniques for fat transfer are used as well. Also, microdroplet injectable silicone is currently being studied, and is in the investigational stages. Please inquire about availability through our office. See procedures for more information.
Acne Scarring Treatment
New Techniques to treat pitted acne scars with chemical peeling are now being used with excellent result and little to no down time. Silicone is also being studied in the treatment of acne scars. Please inquire about availability through our office.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal is available. As this technology has improved over the last several years, so have the results! With recent advances, the procedure is much less painful---almost painless! For more information, see procedures.
Rosacea and Facial Redness Treatments
Our practice is equipped with the latest technology in medical lasers to improve the redness and broken blood vessels associated with Rosacea and many skin types.
