Our Atlanta practice provides dermatology and dermatologic surgery for the correction of skin disease, skin cancer, and skin aging. Skin resurfacing in the form of lasers, chemical peeling, and dermabrasion are the hallmark of treatment for precancers, wrinkles, scarring, and pigmentary abnormalities. Dermal Fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm™, and Radiesse®, as well as BOTOX® and DYSPORT®, are performed for scar and wrinkle and facial wasting treatments, as well as excessive perspiration. Broken blood vessels, spider veins, and leg veins are treated by sclerotherapy and lasers. Tattoo removal and permanent eyeliner micropigmentation are also available.
Laser hair removal can achieve reduction of hair density in such areas as face, bikini line, back, under arms, and legs. In 2-6 monthly treatments, excellent results are now available with minimal complications and no "down-time."
Microdermabrasion is, for the most part, no longer available. The procedure involves a series of treatments during which the skin is sprayed with sand-like crystals. The crystals are applied to the skin and then vacuumed away, along with superficial dead skin cells. Superficial peeling is a better alternative for most patients.
Tumescent liposuction, invented by dermatologic surgeons, is available for body contouring. The procedure is performed using local anesthesia, and its advantages include a rapid return to work and minimal complications. Paired with Fat Transfer to the face, Tumescent liposuction is a powerful, yet simple, procedure for combating the aging process.
